2015 Spring Newsletter

The annual
Emerald Lakes Garage Sale, May 14th-16th, was a big success. We
want to thank all those who participated, both sellers and
buyers.

___________________________________________________________________________

Summer's
finally upon us, and after a cool and wet June, there have been
numerous reports of muskrats. Once again, let us know if you
spot any. We'll bring in a trapper to handle the problem.

___________________________________________________________________________

On the
other hand, there's nothing we can do about deer, including the
pair that just loped slowly along the sidewalk in front of
several houses on Emerald Lakes Drive, as the final touches were
being put to this newsletter. If you've got vegetable gardens,
think about fencing them off with wire.

___________________________________________________________________________

We've heard
complaints of broken fish lines and garbage observed in the
lakes. Please, when you fish our lakes, remember not to leave
anything behind. Also, the fish are too small for legal capture.
Catch and toss back is the way to go.

___________________________________________________________________________

Also, the
lakes aren't a safe or healthy place for swimming, as well as
being against the bylaws. Let's remember that, too, this summer.
We like to see our neighbors keep well.

__________________________________________________________________________

Should you
find a downed tree in our trails, please let us know. In the
meantime, if you take a pet for a walk there, please clean up
after it. The trails belong to all of us—which means so does the
responsibility of looking after our pets when we walk them
there.

___________________________________________________________________________

Permitted
craft on the lakes includes paddleboats, canoes, and other small
craft, but not rafts. Again, safety first.

___________________________________________________________________________

Finally,
take note that there will be several openings on the Emerald
Lakes Homeowners Association's board to be filled this November.
Please contact a board member if you wish more information about
this.

___________________________________________________________________________

We'll speak
again this Fall. Have a great Summer!
